Join the Choir

We are recruiting

This accomplished choir performs a wide range of choral music, ancient and modern, with a particular focus on challenging and rewarding new music.

Recent concerts have included works by Caroline Shaw, Reena Esmail, Margaret Bonds and Saunder Choi as well as more familiar composers such as Byrd, Tomkins, Vaughan Williams and of course J.S. Bach. We recently performed an exhilarating UK premier of Kile Smith's The Arc in the Sky.

We are looking for new members with a high standard of singing and musicianship, who are interested in challenging themselves musically in a friendly and aspirational environment, led by our Music Director Daniel Mahoney.   If that sounds like you, please come and join us for a few rehearsals to try us out.  If you enjoy the experience and want to sing with us, after 3 rehearsals we will arrange a short audition.

As an auditioned choir, we aim to maintain a balance of all voice parts and we may occasionally have a waiting list for a given part.  At the moment we have space for altos, tenors and basses and a waiting list for sopranos.  However, if you are a soprano, we still want to hear from you so please read on.

For sopranos, following a successful audition, we will let you know as soon as a space becomes available.  Alternatively, if you want to wait until a soprano space becomes available before getting involved at all, leave us your details and we will contact you when that happens.  We don’t expect that will be too long.

In March 2027, as part of our 60th anniversary celebrations, we will be singing Bach’s B Minor Mass in Greyfriars Church, Reading.  Join now to sing this glorious music with us.

We rehearse on Tuesdays at 7.30pm, at St Andrews Church, Caversham in Reading.  You can find more information about joining and singing with the choir in the FAQs page in the 'Sing with Us' tab.
