The dramatic harmony and balance between the two choirs and orchestra worked beautifully. The choruses were exciting and the chorales smooth and confident.

Christopher Watson as the Evangelist gave an outstanding and sensitive performance, but it would have been appreciated by the audience if he and David Stuart (Jesus) could have been further forward or higher.

The other soloist were confident but alas uninspiring. The beautiful tone and clear German of the choir were a joy to hear and to be joined by the boys (where are the girls?) was a treat for us all. Altogether a performance held together with great skill by JanJoost van Elburg, an honour to experience.
