Douai Abbey interior
Douai Abbey, with its wonderful acoustic and warm welcome, is a favourite with both the choir and our audience. Situated close to Reading it nonetheless evokes the sound world of the European monastic tradition. It is a superb venue for choral music from unaccompanied 20th Century works to the Monteverdi Vespers with full band of sackbuts and cornetts. It is home to the Benedictine order, and is a well known classical music venue. It has a fine organ by Kenneth Tickell and a chamber organ.
It has generous parking and full disabled access.
